Riviera Maya is an amazing destination with much to explore, including diverse wildlife, cenotes, caves, and archaeological sites. The property itself is great for adults, teens, and young children. It also offers an adults-only section if your family is all 18 or older. One of the more notable kid- and teen-friendly attractions is the resort’s Rockaway Bay Water Park. The park is home to six “big kid” water slides, as well as eight smaller slides for younger children.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana
Another great option for families is the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Don’t miss the Roxity Kids Club, where children ages 4-12 can take on dance lessons, karaoke, and other music-themed activities. We are loving the brand new AVA Resort Cancun! From our beloved partners at AIC Hotel Group (the same group that brings you all of the Hard Rock Hotels & Resorts) comes the beautiful AVA Resort. Krete attended AIC’s Showstopper Awards which were held at the new property in September. Not only did our agency, and Krete personally, receive the highest accolades, but we also got to check out the resort for ourselves and it did not disappoint. 5 Things We Love About AVA Resort Cancun
1. Gorgeous Ambiance and Decor
We were blown away by the photos we saw of AVA resort as we anticipated its grand opening last June, and it did not disappoint when we stayed in person! It oozes luxury and has a truly high-end feel throughout. The decor is reminiscent of a modern luxury yacht, with Mexican Riviera inspiration.
2. Wide Variety of Delicious Food
AVA Resort is not lacking in the food department! We love all of the options and you can tell that they take care in its production and presentation. The north tower offers five specialty restaurants:
- Plaza Mx (buffet)
- Black Iron (steak house)
- Kita (Teppenyaki and sushi)
- Copal (Mexican)
- Veranda (Italian)
You’ll also find plenty of casual options like the taco stand, Komos frozen yogurt, and Aroma Norte. In total, the resort has 17 restaurants and bars serving up global cuisines like Mexican, Italian, French, Mediterranean, Peruvian, French and much more.
3. Tons of Activities for All Ages
Kids and adults alike will have no problem keeping themselves busy here! Absolutely no need to leave the resort if you do not want to. Kids will love the swimming pool parties, foam parties, and kids club activities. adults will love the Dez Day Club, adults-only pool areas, incredible gym, and stunning. full-service spa. Other entertainment options include mixology and cooking classes, a speakeasy, and a nightclub. There is also a daycare facility.

One thing we really love about AVA is that all 1,622 rooms – including suites and villas – offer stunning ocean views. We love being able to take in the sunset from our balcony. Even the rooms on the lowest floors offer incredible ocean views! The rooms themselves are incredibly comfortable and luxurious.
5. Amazing Room Options for Families
We love it when a family-friendly resort goes above and beyond like AVA! For families, they offer a ton of great options for rooms that meet your needs. The Friends & Family Oceanfront Suite is a great option, featuring a primary bedroom, a living room with a daybed, and another living area with an L-sofa. It will comfortably fit up to 2 adults and 3 children. We also love the Friends & Family Sundeck Suite, which also sleeps a family of 5 but includes a large sundeck and outdoor living room area. They also offer Two Bedroom Panoramic Suites for families of 6, and three- or four-bedroom villas that sleep 8-12 guests!
