Enchanted Honeymoons

Planning your perfect honeymoon, destination wedding, romantic getaway or the perfect vacation of a lifetime has never been easier with Enchanted Honeymoons travel agents.

Traveling with kids on a plane

Family vacations are wonderful times to be together. The everyday routine is put on hold and the family gets together for one week to create memories that will l last a lifetime. Getting ready to leave town or leave the county takes planning, time and effort but it is all worth it when you get to your destination. Traveling with children under 10 can turn a vacation into a trip for some parents. Here are 4 tips to make sure your vacation stays a vacation.

Surprise your Kids with New Activities

For smaller children having to sit for an extended period of time is difficult. Usually full of energy going from one room to another and one activity to another is not possible on an airplane. Make sure you prepare for the plane ride by packing a bag full of activities your kids can during the plane ride. Make a trip to your local Dollar Store or Target for small games, coloring books, or an I Spy book or two. A new game for their Nintendo DS can bring hours of entertainment and you a lot of peace. Make the activities a surprise. If you are traveling with more than one child, bring a few small prizes for their efforts. Encouraging good behavior and participation when they least expect is a bonus.

<img scr=” Airplane over ocean.jpg” alt=”Take a family vacation by air, Omaha, Enchanted Honeymoons”>Take a walk

If your destination takes you more than 2 hours to arrive at, make sure and communicate with the kids that you will be taking a walk up and down the plane’s isle with them every once in a while. This is a good time for them to see the airplane, say hi to those on the isle, use the restroom and stretch their legs and curiosity. It’s also good for mom and dad to stretch too!

Bring Healthy Snacks

Healthy snacks are always important for children and even more important on an airplane. Too much sugar can raise their energy levels, which in a confined environment, is not good for them, you or the other passengers on the plane. The airlines do not provide enough sustenance for most small kids so make sure you come prepared with snacks of your own. This will ensure your kids don’t let you know they are hungry. Good healthy snacking choices could include bagels and cream cheese (shmear the cream cheese on the bagel, press the halves together and cut. Use foil wrap to ensure it stays fresh and does not come apart), pretzels, granola bars, fruit cups (remember the spoon) and gold fish or Cheez-It crackers. Don’t forget the wipes or napkins.

Plan for Quiet Time

If your flight is a long one, there is no reason why you can’t impose a ‘quiet time’ in the air. Letting the kids know up front what the schedule will be will help them prepare for the fact that they are going to rest and relax for a time before the flight lands. Encourage the kids to pack one favorite stuffed animal for the flight. His can be their napping buddy. It can also be used as a small pillow. As a parent, traveling with small kids takes quite a bit of your energy as well. This will give you the break you need to get and prepare to deplane, gather the kids and the luggage and get to the hotel without being completely exhausted.

A family vacation is for everyone. Make sure that the kids are not the only ones who have a good time. Plan in advance and arm yourself with activities, snacks and a schedule for the flight so you all have a great time (and you don’t end up planning your next vacation without the kids!)

The holidays are the best and worst time to travel. Traveling over the holidays is the best because the holidays themselves are thrilling! It is exciting to get ready for a trip and travel. Many travelers at the airports are visiting friends or family. Others may be headed to a location that they’ve always dreamed about! The 2013 holiday season is in the books but the timing is perfect to start planning your trip for next Christmas!

http://enchantedhoneymoons.com/about-us/Why plan a trip now for next Christmas?

If you have any points on credit cards most companies will let you book 12 months to 350 days in advance to use any credits or points you have been accumulating. Many airlines only reserve a certain number of seats per flight for those “turned in points” or frequent flyer miles. If you are traveling with more than one other person, getting seats for all of you may be difficult.

Plan your trip for a less busy time of year

It’s no secret that the day before Thanksgiving is the most traveled day of the year. Christmas is not far behind. Consider a once-in-a-lifetime trip on another holiday like Valentines’ Day. Nothing says, “You rock my world” to your husband, wife or significant other than a trip to one of the Hard Rock Resorts in Mexico. Consider planning a trip for a special birthday. Is it 30, 40, 50 or 60 years? A moonlit dinner on your birthday with the ocean lapping in the sand a few yards away from you can melt away the years in no time. If you aren’t 30 you will still feel like 30!

Surprise!

You may not be the spur-of-the-moment type so planning a trip to surprise your spouse in advance for an anniversary may fit the bill. The Travel Agents at Enchanted Honeymoons know when all the extra special all- inclusive rates are for resorts like Sandals, Palace, and Royal, just to name a few.

That was the best proposal!

You’ve seen them on YouTube now it’s your turn! Turn a the trip your planned with Enchanted Honeymoon for your love interest into a surprise exotic proposal! Video tape your own romantic proposal in a destination that will melt her heart. Better yet, keep the surprise going and turn that proposal into a destination wedding! The agents at Enchanted Honeymoon are experts when it comes to arranging a destination wedding for you and your family and friends. Many resorts offer the bride and groom perks for group booking! Those benefits can differ from resort to resort and the Enchanted Honeymoon destination wedding experts can tell you all about it when you call or come in to their travel agency!
There are lots of great times in the year to plan a trip. Lucky for all of us, we can help you determine what the best time is for YOU.

I don’t know about you but a photo of the ocean and or someone sitting on a beach inspires me to take a deep breathe and attempt to relax. The photo instantly encourages you to ‘want to be there’. The photo reminds you that you need to take time for yourself to relax. You need to rejuvenate. You need to spend some time away and decompress, be with a loved one or be by yourself! When you see a photo like this do you say to yourself, “I need a vacation. I need to get away. I want to be there!” The self talk is there for a minute and goes away the next. You’ll hear the voice again the next time you see another picture of the blue ocean and a peaceful beach. The difference is, this time you listen to the voice. You decide to explore your possibilities. Find out how you can be in that picture on that beach.

Beach-peacefulYou may do a little research on your dream destination on the internet. The web is great for that kind of thing but when it comes to executing your trip, a travel agency is a sure fire way to get there with less stress and better planning. When you work with a travel agency, the difficult parts about traveling are no longer part of your process! Working with an agency like Enchanted Honeymoons makes getting to that beach easy and stress free. The experts at the Enchanted Honeymoons all specialize in locations around the world. You will work with a travel expert who has been to the place you are dreaming of, they can suggest and book your hotels, your airfare and take all the details off your plate so all you have to do is get on that plane and enjoy the plate (of excellent food!) at the other end.

When you are thinking about trying a restaurant in your area, you go to the internet and read the reviews. You ask your friends who have been there for their advice on what to order and when to go. Enchanted Honeymoons is just like that. They are your friends who have been to the places you want to visit, they have eaten at the restaurants you would enjoy and they can assist you with the activities you want to participate in when you get there. They are your travel advisers and with any adviser, they recommend things to you that will fit your idea of fun or relaxation. They will gather as much information as they can about “your perfect trip” and they will book your travel, help choose your hotel and then book it for you, arrange your transportation to your hotel and make sure that the places you want to see will be a perfect match for your vacation, special trip or honeymoon.

The internet is helpful for a lot of things. But when it comes to your vacation, you don’t want to leave it in the hands of the internet alone. Trust the travel experts at Enchanted Honeymoons. You don’t take a lot of trips like this. Don’t leave the details to the internet. Leave them to real people who have been to the real places you want to travel to. Your trip of a lifetime will be better and more enjoyable for it.

After just a five night stay this past summer, we’re convinced that it doesn’t get much better than Costa Rica for exploring the great outdoors! The Guanacaste area of Costa Rica in particular truly gives you the best of both worlds. Here you can spend your mornings exploring the rainforest and your afternoons soaking up the sun on one of the many golden beaches!

Whether you’re into hiking, surfing, or simply taking in the tropical scenery, you’ll find it all and more in this exotic country. Check out our list below of the top five things that make Costa Rica an absolute paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

1. Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano National Park

Nestled between the Tilaran and Guanacaste mountain ranges, touring the Arenal Volcano National Park was probably the most memorable experience of our trip. Arenal Volcano itself is surrounded by lush rainforest, which means you’ll have to do some hiking to get a good glimpse. We felt that the hiking difficulty was intermediate, but it could be intimidating to beginner hikers. Often times, the very top of the volcano is hidden by clouds, but fortunately we were able to get an unobstructed view of the entire peak.

For our tour, we went with Central American Tours and we would highly recommend them! Our tour guides were extremely informative, fun, and always completely in-tune with the surroundings.

2. Village Hopping

Another perk of Costa Rica? It is the perfect destination for exploring with a car! Since the Guanacaste area is surrounded by small villages, it is really easy to arrange mini-trips during your stay to get the full experience. On our way to Arenal Volcano National Park, we pit-stopped in several villages that were along the route. Each village has its own unique personality, and all of them we visited felt very safe and clean. This is your chance to try some authentic specialities at the local cafes and restaurants!

For the true adventurist, a road trip to the capital city of San Jose is around a 3.5 hour drive from the Guanacste area. The atmosphere in this city is unlike any other in the country, with an endless selection of nightlife, restaurants, cafes, markets, and museums.

3. Surfing

If you’re an avid surfer or have always wanted to learn the sport, Costa Rica is the place to do it! With both options for beginner’s surf school and waves for the experts, be sure to check out Playa Grande, Malpais, and Playa Naranjo (otherwise known as Witches Rock).

4. Resort Variety

Costa Rica holds a wide variety of accommodations, from all-inclusive resorts, to standard hotels, and even bed and breakfasts. If you’re hoping to get in a good amount of beach time during your trip, an all-inclusive beachfront resort will definitely be the way to go! For independent travelers who aren’t set on staying by the beach, a European-plan hotel in the mountains might be right up your alley.

We stayed at the RIU Palace Costa Rica and toured several other resorts in the area, including The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, RIU Guanacaste, Occidental Grand Papagayo, and Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort.

5. Wildlife Unique to Costa Rica

Costa Rica will give you plenty of chances to catch glimpses of all sorts of wildlife. Don’t miss the Mounteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, which houses more than 500 species of birds (including the vibrant Quetzal). In this reserve, you’ll also find over 3000 species of plants, many of which are orchid varieties. If you’re really lucky, you may even spot a white-faced monkey!

Ready to explore this tropical country for yourself? Here are a few of the things we wouldn’t visit Costa Rica without:

On our most recent trip, we had the privilege of calling Kauai “home”. We had an entire week to explore the island’s mysterious caves and grottos, try local cuisine, and marvel at the legendary Hawaiian sunsets. After fitting as many activities as we could into each day, we thought we’d share a few of the things that you just can’t miss when visiting Hawaii’s “Garden Isle”. Check out the highlights of our trip below!

1. Fern Grotto

Only accessible by boat (we toured with Smith’s Kauai), Fern Grotto is one of Kauai’s most famous landmarks. It is located on the windward side of the island, which is known for being extraordinarily lush. Covered in an abundance of flourishing ferns, it’s easy to see why this lava rock grotto is an extremely popular spot for weddings and vow renewals.

While visitors are no longer permitted to climb up into the grotto due to new safety and environmental regulations in place, there is still an option to see the grotto by kayak for those seeking a little more adventure than the standard tour!

2. Waimea Canyon

Also known as “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, Waimea Canyon offers a striking view of plant life, rust-colored soil, and a towering waterfall. It took about 20-minutes to drive to the top, and the trip was completely worth it. Waimea Canyon is known for its ever-changing views, depending on the clouds and time of day you make your visit.

3. Napali Coast

Seeing the Napali Coast by boat was probably the most memorable experience of our trip. Our tour was hosted by Captain Andy’s, and we loved every minute of it!

Altogether the tour was about six hours long, and approximately 80 miles roundtrip. Throughout the cruise, we were lucky enough to spot pods of spinner dolphins, snorkel the beautiful coral reef, and see the coast’s dramatic spires. This is a tour that definitely lives up to all of the hype, so be sure to make it a priority during your stay.

4. Mountain Tubing in Hanamaulu

One of the most unique excursions on the island of Kauai is the mountain tubing tour in Hanamaulu with Kauai Back Country. This tour is a “lazy river” of sorts that winds through the irrigation canals of old sugar plantations, which also means passing through tunnels that are almost 60 feet below ground! This activity lasts about two hours total, with unforgettable glimpses of the Lihue area. We would recommend this excursion to anyone and everyone looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure while you’re there.

5. Kalamaku Luau

Of course, the list wouldn’t be complete without detailing our favorite luau of the trip. Even the locals will tell you that the Kalamaku Luau is a must! This luau is a bit different than a standard luau, with more of a  “Cirque du Soleil” vibe. The performance itself lasted about an hour and told the story of how Kauai was first settled. We got the chance to try Poi for the first time during this luau and highly recommend it to any foodies!

We can hardly wait to pay Kauai another visit, and will be living through our camera roll until then. Have any recommendations that we need to get added to our list for next time? Let us know in the comments!

All inclusive resorts have come a long way. Gone are the days of mediocre food and hidden fees. With the competition heating up in the all inclusive resort industry, the service-oriented amenities are boundless. They best way to find an all inclusive that meets your needs is to talk to a reliable travel agent who knows the industry and what’s available at your price point. It won’t cost you more to book with a travel agent. The resorts pay their fees. It will take you a lot of time and energy to investigate all the options available within your criteria. To save your valuable time and money, call a travel agent who specializes in the all inclusive market.

There are many reasons why a vacation or honeymoon traveler would want to use an all inclusive resort to get away. Here is a list of 5 reasons to book your trip at an all inclusive resort.

Affordable Vacation and Honeymoon

Going on vacation or a honeymoon takes a lot of planning, especially if you want to go at a time of year when everyone else seems to be traveling. For some locations, like Hawaii, booking a year in advance to get the flights and fares you are looking for, or to use your airline miles, is the norm. There are many affordable locations and resorts for almost every budget. Mexico and Jamaica offer some of the best beaches and best amenities for the price. The best part is you won’t have to recover from the shock of a
high credit card bill when you get back. All inclusive resorts include everything from meals and drinks (alcohol included), room service and land and water sports. You won’t find many extra extravagances you’ll have to pay for when you travel to an all inclusive resort and with resorts offering air credits, you may not need to use the airline miles it’s taken you years to accumulate!

All Food and Drinks (including alcohol) Included

All inclusive resorts are famous for the variety of food they offer, the restaurants on the property and top shelf list of alcoholic beverages they provide. Many Sandals locations have up to 15 restaurants for dining, 24 hour room service, swim up bars and snacks.

All of which is included in the all inclusive rates. Gone are the days of house label wine and cheap liquor. You can find brand names such as Bombay Sapphire, Cointreau, Tanquaray, Jack Daniels, Crown Royal and Johnny Walker and as many as 12 bars at many Sandals Resorts. Have a taste for Asian, Japanese, West Indian, Jamaican, Seafood, Pizza, French, Thai, Italian or Fusion? You’ll find world-class food and world-class chefs in the kitchen in these all inclusive resorts and the restaurants are all included in the price!

Prime Resort Locations

Every Sandals all inclusive resort sits directly on a beach! You won’t have to walk far to get your toes in the sand! The Beaches Resorts (caters to families) offer calm leeward side island locations, protected cove beaches and reef snorkeling within wading distances so you won’t have to worry about the kids! With 44 categories of rooms, and  suites designed with families in mind (1-3 bedrooms in Turks & Caicos or 4 bedrooms at the Penthouse Suite in Turks & Caicos) and available amenities like plasma TV’s, Xbox, rain head showers, marble showers and granite wet bars, a vacation with the family will feel like a vacation not just a trip with the kids!

Take an Adults Only Vacation

We know you love kids, especially your own (if you have them). An adults only vacation is just for the two of you. As a couple you have planned to spend a couple of days or a week alone as “your time,” and you’d like to leave the sights and sounds of children behind for just a little while. If this is the scenario you long for, choose an adults only all inclusive resort from Secrets, Sandals, Palace, Excellence, Couples, and Iberostar. These resorts offer adults only locations to relax and unwind and fall in love all over again. Adult’s only resort locations are especially perfect for a couple on a honeymooner or anniversary celebrations.

Free Wedding with Minimum Stays

A Destination Wedding followed by a stunning tropical honeymoon is all the rage. Secure a free wedding at a Sandals Resorts that includes a bouquet, boutonniere, table setting for 8 and a wedding cake with any 3 night stay. At the Excellence Rivera Cancun, book an Excellence Club Junior Suite with an Ocean View for 7 nights or more and the complimentary wedding package is yours! There are many other all inclusive resort locations offering complimentary weddings for you ad your wedding party.

Use a Travel Agent to book your All Inclusive Resorts Vacation

The best way to find an all inclusive resort that offers free weddings, family accommodations or an adults only stay is to contact a travel agent that specializes in Honeymoon, couples only and family locations for an all inclusive stay!

Spanish colonial architecture, classic 1950’s Cadillacs, taking in the breathtaking beaches and waterfall views with an authentic Cuban cigar and a mojito in hand – this is the idealistic image that had travelers flocking to Cuba when the travel ban between US and Cuba was lifted in March 2016.

While you can expect to be charmed by friendly locals and the culture’s nostalgic charm, American tourists are being warned that it is not the entirely glorified destination often pictured.

When this long-standing ban was lifted, allowing Americans to travel freely to Cuba, it caused a frenzy for travelers to cross this destination off of their travel bucket list. Airlines and cruise ships raced to provide and increase direct access to the hot spot and according to MarketWatch.com, tourism increased over 30% in just 14 months. This tourist boom caught the country unprepared and led to issues for both visitors and locals.

The best way to prepare yourself for a visit to Cuba is to do your research and get advice from an expert. Travel agents can inform you on what to expect, both the good and the bad. Enchanted Honeymoons Travel offers 24-hour live support, which can ease any anxiety you may have while in destination and assist with anything you need while abroad.

Travel Agent Tips to Prepare for Your Trip to Cuba

  1. Convert your cash in the United States. Cuban Convert Pesos are the only form of payment accepted from tourists in Cuba and it is not the same as the country’s Cuban Peso used by locals. American credit and debit cards are not accepted.
  2. The locals are friendly and seemingly care-free, but the government can create an oppressive atmosphere. The government controls internet usage and requires permits. The tip here is – make sure you talk to your travel agent about exactly which permits you need.
  3. It is very difficult to find Wifi in Cuba and a special permit is required. It comes at a hefty price. Our advice – relax and enjoy yourself screen-free 🙂
  4. Perhaps the most concerning issue in Cuba right now is the food shortage. Restaurants, in order to accommodate their guests, buy items in bulk at grocery stores, leaving them picked over for locals. Fruits and vegetables are the most difficult to find. Beer is another commodity that is difficult to find and very expensive in Cuba. Our tip – bring portable snacks to avoid getting hangry.
  5. Cuba is not Cancun, and this means you need a reason to visit. The limited options include religious activities or community outreach. Our advice is to discuss the ‘People to People’ tour with your travel agent. This tour includes visits to elementary schools, live music, and salsa lessons.
  6. Don’t drink the water – bottled water only.
  7. You will need $25 in cash for your departure tax upon leaving Cuba.

Looking Forward

Despite the mediocre tourism infrastructure, the Cuban Tourism Board is working to improve and to accommodate its growing tourist population. According to Expertvagabond.com, they are expecting to have 85,000 hotel rooms by 2020, 80 new Wi-Fi hotspots, and restaurants and grocery stores are importing more good to stay stocked. With these improvements, Cuba will continue to be a bucket list destination for travelers to enjoy.

Between the shopping trips, seasonal events, and last minute errands that always seem to arise during the busy holiday season, it’s easy to put off being fully prepared for your holiday travel plans. Keep the stress and racing around to a minimum with our list of helpful tips for holiday travel. After all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

1. Fly on The Holiday

While flying on Christmas or New Year’s Day may not sound like the most appealing thing to do, it may save you a few headaches. As many people tend to avoid traveling the day of a holiday, the traffic and crowds can be a little less overwhelming than the couple days prior or after.

2. Utilize Online Check-in

While the obvious benefit of checking in online prior to your arrival at the airport is to save time, there are several other benefits, too. When you check-in online 24-hours prior to your flight, it allows you to view the most updated flight itinerary. For example, if your flight time got bumped up 30 minutes earlier, you’ll find out ahead of time instead of when you show up to the airport to your plane taking off.

3. Arrive Extra Early

Between unexpected winter weather, road conditions, and traffic, there are many variables that can come into play at the last minute. During peak travel season, the lines and waiting times are generally longer than when traveling in the off-season. Arriving early for your flight is a must, especially when traveling with little ones or those who may take longer to get through security.

4. Ship Gifts Ahead of Time

When planning to spend the holidays away from home, one of the biggest items to check off of the to-do list is shipping any gifts to the destination in advance. Not only do wrapped presents take up a lot of space in your checked bags or carry-ons, but it also increases their chances of getting lost, broken, or stolen.

5. Pack Layers

Whether you’re going from frigid cold temperatures to warm Caribbean breezes or even just a couple of states away, be sure to pack comfortable layers in your carry-on. The quick transition from heated airports to snowy runways is always something to be prepared for!

6. Prepare Your Home for Holiday Travel

Keep your holiday travels from becoming a Home Alone sequel and prep your home beforehand. Make arrangements with a neighbor to collect your mail. In addition, keep light timers on, or have a friend check on things periodically throughout f your trip.

7. Read up on Your Destination

Be sure to do some research on your destination for your dates of travel. Be aware of things such as the nightly average temperatures. This can be extremely helpful for packing and planning out your ideal itinerary. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your travel agent for suggestions from first-hand experience!
